#Mobilegeddon. The End is Here (or the Beginning?)

A client just sent me a text; “My new site is not up yet and it’s April 21st! What happens now?”
Google has put the fear of God (aka the Fear of Google) into website owners worldwide. Today is the day sites that are not responsive will start to lose their steam in ranking as Google is giving more cred to responsive/mobile-friendly sites.
“What happens now?” Honestly, I’m not sure
The change will not affect tablet or desktop searches, but mobile made up almost half of all traffic to Google between June and November 2014, according to marketing firm Clickz — demonstrating the importance of mobile for websites.
I’m watching the Blogs, Mashable, Google’s webmaster pages for hints but my guess is it will be a little bit of time before the indexing makes an impact. But just a little bit of time. Waiting a month or two won’t kill you. Waiting more than that could cause a real decline in site visitors. And if your visitors convert to new business, you could be in serious trouble.
Convert your non-responsive website into a mobile-friendly, Google-happy WordPress site now. Don’t let the new Google edict leave your business in the dust.
